SixtyNine Seventy Urban Ideas Competition in SLC

SixtyNine Seventy, an urban ideas competition in downtown Salt Lake City, is launching January 10, 2013. The competition, entitled The Spaces Between, welcomes designers and teams from across the globe to envision an active, useful repurposing of two city blocks (69 and 70, directly below City Creek in downtown SLC) with an emphasis on connecting cultural amenities to the existing downtown fabric.

The competition will award two top prize Jury Awards of $40,000, as well as a People's Choice award of $40,000. Architects, designers, planners, artists, and others are invited to submit their designs by April 20, 2013.

Salt Lake City is the home of CNU 21: Living Community, and designs will be on display throughout SLC and online for the duration of conference. More details will be revealed January 10, 2013. Designs will be displayed to the public from April through May, with winning designs announced in June.
